Spring Summer Season 18 trends are here so It’s time to try to visualise ourselves in thinner layers and wearing fresh brighter colours, not having to shove on your boots, scarf & hat every morning. Look in your wardrobe and start to think that Spring will come over night one day very soon! There’s never any warning in this country, one brisk morning you’re in winter attire then the next it suddenly feels wrong to be in heavy layers and big coats. The spring/summer 2018 fashion trends are nothing if not bright, bold and quite beautiful – the first thing I read in Vogue, “Spring in three words? Feel good fashion” Bliss!
Here’s my picks of what’s ahead for you to enjoy wearing in the bright, fabulous, sunny season ahead – it’s coming, promise

PASTELS
Whether it’s lilac, pink, lemon, duck egg blue or mint green expect to see an array of fashion’s prettiest shades this season. I’m loving walking around the shop floors and seeing lots of clothing in ice cream hues. It just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, dreaming of beaches even though it’s snowing outside!

PLASTIC
This is a new one for us and just suits our British climate – waterproof plastics are a predominant look for spring summer 18 – now that’s doing our bit for recycling! So enjoy a little bit of transparency in a shoe, hat, belt or a whole garment (for the brave). For me this is the most out-there trend of 2018! Plastic is fantastic.

DENIM
I’m enjoying seeing all the smart, dark denim, in tapered trousers and fitted blazers. Tailored denim is everywhere this season and looks smart and sharp – could almost pull it off for the office!

TRENCH COATS
Take one wardrobe timeless basic and add a modern twist or bling it up. This classic gets a twist with appliqué, embroidery and embellishment – this takes our old friend we all love to new heights – it’s time to pimp your trench that’s been lying around in your wardrobe for years!

BUM BAGS
There’s always an array of bag trends every season but the one that steels the limelight for this season is the bum bag, or belt bag, should you want to sound more sophisticated. From the sporty nylon pouches, lux leathers there’s a style to suit everyone – I’m glad there back!

BOLD COLOUR
Strong primary colours are also on offer everywhere, think Crayola crayon box colours to add a major colour boost for Spring Summer 18. So, if pastel is not your thing don’t worry, there’s a much stronger vibrant choice for you on offer – you may need sunglasses for some of them!

PENCIL SKIRT
The pencil skirt is reinstated, rejoice in the pencil-skirt comeback. This time around they are longer-lined and therefore more flattering – it’s nice to see them a focus again.

ROUND UP OF OTHERS
Polka-dot is still incredibly popular. Cycling shorts worn as normal everyday wear (thank you Kim K for that one!). Eighties are still here and been adapted once again to our everyday clothing lives – disco glamour, sequins live on!! Just when you thought plaids and tartans were only for the colder month they are staying with us all summer long, flowers will never die on our shop floors and anything sheer is still on trend. Don’t be afraid to mix your prints, the madder the better – cowboy boots add an update to any outfit. The sportswear mixed with normal wear trend is still strong. Cinderella glittery shoes are everywhere, and ruffles seem still to be attached to anything!
